5 website mistakes that quietly lose you customers

No booking button, hidden prices, slow photos: five fixable mistakes I see on almost every local business website, and how to repair each one.

1. There is no obvious next step

The single most common mistake: a visitor lands, likes what they see, and finds no button to act on. If a customer has to hunt for how to book, call, or order, a percentage of them simply leaves. Every page needs one primary action, visible without scrolling: Book now, Call us, Order online.

2. Prices are hidden

Owners hide prices fearing competitors. In reality hidden prices mostly filter out customers, who assume the worst and move on. Even a starting price ("cuts from $25") removes the biggest question a first-time customer has.

3. The site is slow because of photos

Phone photos are 4 to 8 MB each. Put ten on a page and mobile visitors on real networks wait six seconds staring at white. Compressed, correctly sized images cut load time to under a second. It is the cheapest speed win that exists, and most sites skip it.

4. It ignores WhatsApp

For local service businesses, customers overwhelmingly prefer messaging over calling or email forms. A WhatsApp button that opens a chat with a prefilled message converts better than any contact form. If your customers are on WhatsApp and your site is not, you are paying for that gap daily.

5. No proof

Reviews exist on Google, but your site is where the decision happens. Pulling your rating and two or three real quotes onto the page moves people from "looks nice" to "let me book". Proof beats promises.

Every one of these five is fixable in a day. If you want me to check your site for all five, request a free audit and I will send you specific fixes within 48 hours.
